Most children inherit their parent has talents and skills such as singing, writing, speaking, painting and etc. If we observe our child manifesting such abilities we should then be more encourage to help them develop those skills right at their early age. Inherited skills are easier to stimulate. Knowledge, exposures and the experiences of the child in his early years influence how his brain develops. That is the reason why parents send their children to day care schools though others prefer pre schooling them at home which is more practical and cheaper. Either of the both can be a good start for a child to be nurtured and develop. In addition to their pre schooling they give their children a chance to explore the world of art and music. It has been observed that most children who learn music lessons such as piano, violin, guitar and even voice culturing proved to be smarter than those who did not. Parents believe that if a child practices everything, he will be able to do many things when he grows up.
Let us face it, when completing tasks we all love to do the easy things first. Why? Because it build our confidence. We get excited when we are ticking items off our to-do list. BANG! 1st item ticked off. BANG! Double tick that item now I am rolling. The only problem with the tick-off easy items first approach is that you use up your best energy at the start of any study session and so if you are tackling the easy parts with your best energy your energy reserves will be low when it comes time to tackle the hard part of what you need to get done. So what happens then? Bet you can not guess! You can guess? That is right - you get tired, you get grumpy, you get frustrated and then just give up and go play Xbox. We all do it. We really should not though. So get in the habit of dedicating your best energy to the difficult tasks first and completing the easy "I can do it with my eyes closed" stuff last.
Know the author has background. This person needs to have a background in education and, ideally, should be trained in the latest educational methods, like brain-based teaching/learning. I personally would never use any materials with my child that did not specifically mention being "brain-based." I am not talking about just "research-based." I see more and more sites claiming to have research-based materials, but what I find is definitely NOT based on how the brains actually learns. Brain-based learning is relatively new in the educational world, but most worksheet sites and materials are using old science or, more often, no science at all.
